Rhapsody Dance Project has provided me a fun and safe community to continue my love for dance and choreography as a young adult, and the summer showcase is honestly a highlight of my year. I am so grateful to be continually inspired and learn from a unique, creative group of dancers who all share the same passion for dance.

Rhapsody Dance Project is a developing local artistic project aimed to provide an opportunity to experienced young adult dancers to explore movement and expression through dance. Our goal is to help dancers who are not affiliated with professional programs to collaborate with peers and participate in the creative process to choreograph, rehearse and perform their own pieces.

Our Drop-In Classes:

We offer experienced dance classes, in a drop-in style, for Kitchener-Waterloo.

All classes are held at Carousel Dance Centre, 550 Parkside Drive.

Our collaboration classes on April 12th are $10 each, or come to all 3 classes for $25!

These fees help cover studio rental fees and can be paid through cash or

e-transfer at rhapsodydanceproject@gmail.com

Meet Gabe!

Gabe is currently studying Economics at the University of Waterloo and is the co-president of University's Hip Hop Club. He started his dance journey performing K-pop covers in high school which led him to join Haebeat, Tsukimi and various other cover crews. He became a member of UWHH in Winter 24 and has continued to be an active member of the community through various leadership roles. He has trained through Run The Flex's Black Ops team in pursuit of furthering his Hip Hop skills. Gabe is also a current member of UW Origins, a post secondary competitive dance team, that has placed first at events such as REACH and MOMENTUM.

Gabe will be teaching the final class of our RDP x UWDC x UWHH collab, representing UWHH. Join Gabe for a Hip Hop Combo class this Sunday April 12 from 4:10-5:10pm in PAC Studio 1 at the University of Waterloo. See you there!

Happy April dancers! We've got some extra special drop-ins for you this month, so please come join us for these very exciting classes!

Starting on Sunday April 12, we have our collab with UWDC and UWHH. This lovely day of classes begins with a Contemporary Combo class by our very own @_marinasimonovic from 2:00-3:00pm, followed by a Jazz Funk Combo class with UWDC's @antisocial_harris from 3:05-4:05pm, and finally a Hip Hop Combo class with UWHH's @gabe_r24k from 4:10-5:10pm.
These classes will take place in Studio 1 at the University of Waterloo, so please do not come to Carousel! Feel free to DM us if you need any help finding the studio.

On Saturday April 18, we have the amazing @guetchaguaritcha coming in to Carousel to teach a 2 hour Salsa Workshop from 4:30-6:30pm. Feel free to bring a friend or come on your own. We can't wait to see you there!

Calling all choreographers! Our choreographer application deadline is EXTENDED BY 24 HOURS!!! Now’s your chance to showcase your ideas in our 2026 Summer Showcase. Meet Kaitlyn!

Kaitlyn has been dancing since the age of 2 and has trained competitively since age 4 in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and acro. Throughout her competitive career, she has received numerous judges’ choice, overall, and special awards as both a soloist and group performer. During high school, she was actively involved in the dance program and served as co-captain of the dance team. Kaitlyn began assisting classes at the age of 10, developing a strong passion for teaching and choreography. Over the past year, she has worked with dancers of all ages and remains committed to her students while continuing to advance her professional development within the dance community.

Join us for a Lyrical Combo class with Kaitlyn on Sunday March 22nd at 2:00pm. Classes are $10/person (or free for a friend with our bring a friend promo). We can’t wait to see you there!!

Celebrating International Women’s Day with the women who lead, create and inspire. At Rhapsody Dance Project, being women-owned means giving women the space to move with confidence, power, and purpose.

Meet Meghan!

Meghan is a contemporary and ballet dancer based in Montreal. She is currently studying at the Ecole Superieure de Ballet du Quebec and has trained in many intensives around Canada and the world. This past year, she competed in the Fonteyn International Ballet Competition in Sao Paulo, receiving a scholarship. ""There are so many things you can say through dance that are impossible to describe with language, and that's why dance is so important to me."" She is looking forward to sharing the studio with everyone!

Meet Alyssa!

Alyssa is a former professional dancer with Alberta Ballet. She loves the structure and technique of ballet and her favourite thing to do in her free time is a ballet barre! Alyssa recently moved back to Ontario, and has been pursuing her love for ballet through teaching and performing in seniors homes. Alyssa will be attending Queens university in May for their 16-month consecutive education program as part of their artist in community program track. She is excited to combine her passion for dance and teaching in her future career.
